Hunter-Gatherers
Hunter-Gatherers (or Foragers) are nomadic people. To be nomadic means instead of living in a set place, hunter-gatherers moved around from place to place every day. They actually mostly lived off of scavenging instead of real hunting. Hunter-Gatherers were around since near to the earliest man. All modern humans (Homo sapiens) were hunter-gatherers until around 10,000 years ago. There are still a few hunter-gatherer societies in the world today. There are very few, though. Hunter-gatherer societies then and today usually hold 10-50 individual persons.
This was a hunter-gatherer society in North America. This one probably held 20-30 people.
The Decline of Hunter-Gatherers
Hunter-gatherers were everywhere. The groups that stopped by places like ancient China, the Fertile Crescent, and the Nile Delta discovered agriculture and other groups joined them which made the agrarian society.
